Prof Gus John, delivers #Keynote at #HGSConf2025 ....!!

"Never thought I would get to meet the legend, who became the first ever Black man to hold the position of Director of Education in the UK [at the London Borough of Hackney] and who willingly gave 'life to my career ambition' as a young teenager living in Hackney, in the late 1980's. However, today (was truly emotional) in that not only did I get to introduce his Keynote and then share a meal; Prof actually took the time to sit in on my workshop on "AI and the impact for the Chartered Quantity Surveyor". A career of which 'Prof approved my grant application back in 1991, he had no idea of the impact on my life (until today), and to sit at the same table of a such a community legend, break-bread and then be asked to stay in touch - as we exchanged details, was just a wow moment! Prof also sent his best wishes to my Mother, which was just so humbling and incredibly emotional. Thank you Lara, Diane and Marcia for your unwavering and selfless Service and to the rest of the Housing Got Soul gang, for choosing to make this 'historic' day so special (at least, for me!)...."
