The 14th June 2025 marks, the first (1st) year anniversary, following the public disclosure of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, which took place at 11am on 4th September 2024, and concluded with a rather damning public statement, articulated by Chairman, Sir Martin Moore-Bick.

This year’s anniversary will also recognise the eight (8th) year following the harrowing disaster that took place back in June 2017, resulting in the loss of 72 lives and placing the entire (and combined) housing and construction sectors, with a challenge that includes how we prevent any repeat of what has happened.
The purpose of the #GoldenThread is to have the right information in order to understand the building and the steps needed to keep both the building and the people living in it safe. As of the 26th February 2025, the UK Government’s acceptance of all 58 recommendations, generated by the Inquiry; with further plans to update / amend / respond to the nine (9) directed at the UK Goverment, including Recommendation 2 _ the definition of an in-scope building, is a welcome step, but the journey of procedural and cultural change has only just begun, now almost 96months or circa 2,920 days later.

This year at #DCW2025 our Founder [Dr Bola Abisogun OBE], alongside fellow nima Ambassadors and other esteemed members of the #IMI Task Group, will be making the case for ‘agile’ Insurance to better reflect the unknown / knowns, that insurance companies are having to underwrite, both during and beyond, the #Gateway3 construction process. The foundation of this project was established in February 2023, following the Skills Hackathon led by the IET _ https://www.linkedin.com/posts/bolaabisogunobefrics_forgivenessnotpermission-digitalskills-london-activity-7029098702430445568-vvEH/

That the Chartered Institute of Housing has (as of last week, 27th May 2025) chosen to collaborate with the ‘not-for-profit’ Building Safety Alliance, is a firm indication that the ‘whole’ industry (including the insurance sector) is now waking up to the stark and urgent reality of legislative compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022.

Called the #GatewayCode the brainchild of and led by our Founder, on the back of his own campaign since 2017, at the DTSA we stand ready to support all of the aforementioned stakeholders, with the requisite #upskilling using a ‘person-centric’ tailored solution(s) catering to all levels of seniority or project involvement.

The Gateway Code, delivered via OCN London accredited micro-credentials (or bite sized chunks of learning) is designed to improve competency, largely through a combination of #softskills and ‘better information management’ all predicated on #data cleanliness, integration and #interoperability” _ Dr Bola Abisogun OBE

The case for 'agile' insurance will make reference to the 'Onion Diagram' a joint #IMI effort by Dr Bola along with the amazing John T Roberts, Chief Engineer at McGee a fellow IMI Task Group Member, both of whom recently completed a podcast together, moderated by the equally amazing Kevin Reeves of KJR Digital and the CLC Digital Lead _ see link here
